Formal Request

Hello,

Rally for Equality is a peace rally that is being manufactured to take place in the Washington D.C. area on March 20th, 2009. Our mission is to promote the essential rights of the GLBT community involving equality in all aspects of our community. Involved in this event will be political speeches as well as inspirational ones and entertaining performances, with every donation placed being given to corresponding charities and organizations striving for compatible issues.
Our goals in marriage are to be able to see a GLBT couple standing at the altar exchanging rings and speaking the words, I do. This is to be done without societies eyes peering in discriminating at every essence of the word love when it involves two people of the same sex. The accomplishments that are foreseen involve changing the view on same-sex marriage to something as normal, not twisted and disillusioned as the American media and political effort has so often made it seem. As well as being able to introduce our partners as our wives or husbands without having society looking in and picking at every detail because you are both either men or women.
The views for health involve being able to walk into a hospital dressed as a woman, but having parts of a man and still receive the same equal treatment as any other non-GLBT individual would receive. To be able to stay in a room with your sick partner and not have to be removed from the room because you are not this person’s wife or husband because you are both of the same sex. To be able to be openly GLBT with your doctor so you can receive treatment accordingly to the assessments needed in the GLBT community relating to constant checkups and stress from AIDS/HIV strands which are so common in the community.
The rights of children come into effect as well. Another goal is to have the nation view a GLBT’s want for children as something as rational and a basic human want. To legalize same sex adoption throughout the country, giving so many of the poor under privileged children a second chance at living a normal and meaningful life with loving parents, despite them being of the same sex. As well as setting protection in schools and nation to protect against the chances of discriminatory actions taken place against children of same sex couples and keeping them from harms path.
Substance abuse is another major issue. About 25% of the GLBT community is affected by the abuse of drugs or alcohol. By drugs I am referring to Crystal Meth, non-medical use of drugs, both drugs that have and those that do not have generally accepted medical value, alcohol, depression due to the interaction of drugs, anxiety which is placed by the discomfort of the usage of drugs and sex addiction, which is the inability to control one’s sexual behavior and thinking.
Having the equal opportunity to be able to receive the same pay and job positions as any member of the heterosexual community is another one of our set goals. We will advocate the ability for any gay, lesbian, bisexual or transsexual individual to walk into a business for employment and be viewed as a normal citizen from the local community. With this we want the Equal Opportunity Employment to designate that GLBT individuals be included to the utmost recognition in the policy.

Having said that, let’s focus on the GLBT’s involvement in the United States of America’s Armed Forces. With this campaign we will argue the Don’t Ask Don’t Tell Policy and announce the urge to serve openly in the armed forces. We will encourage for GLBT individuals in the armed forces to open up their closet doors and test this policy to its extremes. We want to be recognized and if it takes certain measures than let them be taken.
With those issues addressed we can grow closer and closer on any given day to the equality and peace in which the GLBT rightfully deserves. At this time we are requesting sponsorship in the terms of financial aid as well as announcing of the event. We are seeking individuals who can voluntarily build a great website to advertise the goals and intentions of our organization and gain support through the vast networks of the internet. We are grateful for any mentions of the event in newsletter or emails and thank everyone for their support and recognition. Together we can pioneer the change needed in our community to be viewed as equal and not dismissed as abnormal. Together we can weave our hands in a giant circle across the globe and align our rights for every GLBT individual in the global community.
I am a big believer that one person can change the world, but if everyone affected takes actions that one person could ignite a world of change. For every one person, one more is inspired and so the chain reactions beginnings to a world of potential equality. I thank you for taking the time to read our letter and with this hope that your support will help us change not only our world but all of the GLBT communities’ lives.

Thank you,
